En-83-Welcome to the Fellowship Application System. In order to be admissible for a fellowship position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • have a medical degree from an accredited institution (outside of Canada) listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools confirming school is recognized in Canada https://search.wdoms.org/ (Sponsor Notes tab);
  • have successfully completed a residency program before the beginning of the fellowship;
  • certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the College of Family Physicians of Canada or another recognized international certification board, or at a minimum, have completed a residency program and be admissible to take the Royal College, CFPC or USA certification exams;
  • have successfully completed an English proficiency test, if applicable. See requirements below.

*Language Requirements

Must provide proof of English or French language proficiency through ONE of the following:

  1. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 7 in each component, OR
  2. TOEFL-Ibt; passing score of 93 including a minimum score of 24 on the speaking section, OR
  3. A pass result in the French proficiency test administered by the Collège des Médecins du Québec, OR
  4. Candidates for whom their primary and secondary, medical school or residency education was conducted in English or French, proof must be attached to application, OR
  5. World Directory of Medical Schools Language Option – If the instruction and the language of patient care at the undergraduate or postgraduate medical school was conducted completely in English or French, then a candidate can submit a copy or printout of the World Directory of Medical Schools website listing the medical school which clearly states that the language of instruction is English or French.https://search.wdoms.org/

Deadline to submit an application for a July 2018 start date is September 30, 2017 with the exception of the Radiology Programs. Radiology is currently reviewing applications for positions available in 2019.
